Salone Satellite 2017 collection

The inspiration for the new collection of Studio Finna came from a desire to break free of the traditional Finnish style and to find an own unique way of expressing the contemporary Finnish design. For Studio Finna, design means to discover, find, innovate, create and solve. Studio Finna craves to create something exciting and new. The unique Finnish atmospheres can still be seen in Studio Finna’s work, but the rebellion is executed with bold colours, multiple materials and sculptural forms. With their work Studio Finna brings the new lively and individual Finnish look to the market. For the collection Heikkilä and Pitkäjärvi have also designed glass products that have been blown in Nuutajärvi by the glass blowing students from Tavastia glassblowing school.

Products have been designed into the smallest details. ” We love to design products that have strong artistic character but are also functional, clever details play an important role in this puzzle.” Studio Finna has also collaborated with other young rising talents from Aalto University creating gorgeous custom made textiles to reinforce the collection with haptic and tactile dimensions. The colorful Keto carpet is made in collaboration with Tytti Laitakari www.tyttilaitakari.com. Daybed textile is designed by Sarianna Niskala.
